The state government has decided to stop all advertisement support to the Jagathi Groupof Companies owned by YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at the same time government on a move to seize properties.According to sources, the information andpublic relations department prepared a draft Government Order on Sunday evening, in consultation with the law department, to stop all advertisements to the Telugu daily Sakshi and Sakshi Television.

An official associated with drafting the Government Order told this correspondent that the state is of the opinion that the Jagathi Group was established with ill-gotten money and the CBI has prima facie established that the investments by various companies was in exchange for favours done when YSR was the CM.

An official source revealed that it was the opinion of the legal experts that when the CBI has established a prima facie in the alleged offences against the Jagathi Group, it is unethical to continue support to the publication and broadcasting company by giving it government advertisements. Sources say the Government Order will be issued in a couple of days.

Panasonic Releases Waterproof Smartphone

Panasonic has prepared a new waterproof smartphone that will see the light of day on March 29 this year in Japan.

The new Panasonic Eluga smartphone adheres to the new tendency of offering sturdy smartphones that are resistant to dust, water, scratches and shock. This is why Panasonic claims its new offering is waterproof and dust resistant, although this still has to be proven.

The Panasonic Eluga was first unveiled at the MWC last month. The new smartphoneboasts a 4.3-inch OLED display with 960×540 pixel resolution, measures 7.8 mm thin andweighs 103 grams. Inside the phone is powered by a 1 GHz TI OMAP processor and has 16 GB of memory along with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. There’s also an 8 MP camera without flash. Running Android 2.3 Gingerbread the device will be upgraded to Android 4.0 in Q2 2012.

The new phone is available now in the UK for a price of 399 British pounds. The Panasonic Eluga will also be launched in other European countries later this year.
